Susan was born to Frank and Oletha Warrens in Beaverton and lived near Portland all her life. Sue worked for the Bassist modeling agency, Merrill Lynch, Collins Pine and the Wilsonville Public Library.

David "Hap" Hazard was Sue's first husband and the father of her two sons, David and Christopher. They divorced after 10 years. Her second marriage, to George Combs, ended with his death in 1991. Sue later married Jack Stowell, beginning a 30-year honeymoon until Jack passed away in 2021.

Sue is survived by her son, Chris Hazard; grandchildren, Kaia Hazard, Danika Statler and Benjamin Hazard. Her son, David, died in 2013.

Remembrances may be sent to Meridian United Church of Christ in Wilsonville. A memorial service will be held there at 7p.m., April 20, 2023, and will also stream on Zoom.
