Patricia "Pat" (or "Granny") Hitchcock was everyone's friend. She was vibrant and enthusiastic and loved to be part of everything. She was so full of love and life and laughter. She was fiery and could be ornery and stubborn too. She loved an old fashioned and a glass of wine. She was a big flirt. She was a good neighbor. She was everybody's grandma. She was as bright and cheerful as the flowers blooming on her porch and the reindeer dancing across her roof during Christmas. She was a pillar of the community, frequenting many local businesses and making friends every she went. She loved to shop and spend money and travel with her loved ones.
She was born in Gilroy, CA in 1941 but spent most of her life living in Oregon, raising her family. She was proud of her Portuguese ancestry, her maiden name being Ferreira. She met her husband of 62 years, Dan F Hitchcock in Fort Ord, CA in 1961, where they were married in 1963. She was a caring mother to two children; Dan R and Tiffany, an adoring grandmother to Jordan and Morgan, a great-grandmother to Tommy and Vienna.
She was glamorous and vain. She enjoyed reading, gardening and loved her animals over the years, most recently her labradoodle companion "Truffles" who was with her for 14 years. She had horses too, sharing that passion with her son and his family. She was so loving and generous, and the most wonderful host.
We are devastated to share that Pat suddenly passed away from a stroke on Monday, May 19th 2025, surrounded by her family. A celebration of life will later be announced.
We miss her so much.
