Marilyn Jean Scott Ochs passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 15th, 2020 in Wilsonville, Oregon. She was 89. Born July 9th, 1931 in Portland, Oregon to Gerald and Alice Scott, she attended Woodlawn Grade School and was a very proud graduate of Jefferson High School in 1949.
After attending 2 years at Vanport College which later became Portland State University, she took a civil service exam and was hired by The Bureau of Land Management for her excellent steno and typing skills. One evening after coming home from work, she took a phone call that would forever change her life. "Hi, this is Bobby Ochs. How'd you like to go out and burn up some gas tonight?"
She and Robert "Bobby" Ochs were married October 1st, 1955. Their greatest achievement in life, of which they were most proud, was the raising of their 5 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, favorite Aunt Florence, husband Bob and eldest son Brendan.
She is survived by sons Gerry(Cathy), Robert(Mary), Neil(Dina), and daughter Julie Bohley(Michael). And the following grandchildren, Neil Jon (Sarah), Alice, Madeline, Ian, Wyatt, Sophie, Maria, Noah and great granddaughter Adaline.
Her sweet, kind and loving disposition emanated from her soul, and was felt by all who knew her. Her faith and inner fortitude were lifelong traits that served her well, especially the last few years of her life. Our "Mommy" will be forever loved and deeply missed!
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified.
