Marian Lenore Danley passed away on April 30, 2021, after a brief illness with family by her side. She was 94 years old.
Marian was born on May 7, 1926 to Hazel Irene and Ralph Maguire in Douglas, Wyoming. She graduated from Lusk High School Wyoming in 1944 and joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. She attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Lewistown, Montana earning a Degree in Nursing.
She married Ralph Danley in 1949. She is survived by her sister Carolyn Irwin (Don), sister-in-law, Martha Thomas, two daughters, Marilyn Zimmer (Bob) and Barbara Gatehouse (Phil). grandsons Christopher Gatehouse (Maureen) and Jeremy Gatehouse, great grandchildren, Isabelle and Theodore Gatehouse and a host of extended family including grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews from the Danley, Gatehouse, Maguire, and Zimmer families.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, and a stillborn daughter, Patricia.
The Danley's moved to Portland, Oregon from Miles City, Montana in 1960's. Marian worked as a Registered Nurse in several Portland Extended Care facilities and retired from Holladay Park Plaza, where she worked on the health care floor, in 1991. She served as Head Nurse, Director of Nurses and achieved her Administrator's License during her nursing career.
Marian loved being a mom and grandmother and had a variety of hobbies. She loved to read, sew, crochet, craft, travel and spend time with family. Her kindness and gentle approach with people provided many friends and her joined her family for a multitude of special events.
Marian's sense of humor, her impish grin and her gentleness will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A viewing is scheduled on May 4, 2021 from 1PM to 3PM at Cornwell Colonial Funeral Home, 29222 SW Town Center Loop East, Wilsonville, Oregon.
A second viewing is scheduled on May 7, 2021 from 11AM to 12Noon at Creel Funeral Home, 601 West Main, Lewistown, Montana.
Graveside service on May 7, 2021, Lewistown City Cemetery at 1:00PM.
