Gene Reddemann, 87, passed away on October 4, 2023, in Salem, Oregon. He was born on September 11, 1936 in Mankato, Minnesota. He grew up on his family's farm near LeSueur, MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Agricultural Education and received his Master's degree in Public Administration from Portland State University in 1987.
Gene had a successful career in public administration positions in Minnesota. After earning his Master's degree, he worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Chemawa Indian School in Salem, OR.
In 1983, he married his wife, Pat, and they were blessed with their daughter, Heidi. The family later moved to Oregon in 1986.
After retirement, Gene volunteered for numerous organizations. He was on the Canby, OR Fair Board and Wilsonville, OR Public Library Board. He developed an interest in growing roses and was a long-time member of the Portland Rose Society. He enjoyed entering rose shows and won numerous awards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Ed Reddemann, of LeSueur, MN. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pat; his daughter, Heidi (Adam); and granddaughter, Madison. He is also survived by his brother, Ivan, of LeSueur, MN; and many other relatives and friends.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Wilsonville at 29222 SW Town Center Loop E.
