Cecil Raymond Middlekauff
November 24, 1925 - June 8, 2019

Cecil "Ray" Middlekauff, 93, passed away on June 8, 2019 with his grandchildren by his side. Ray was born to Cecil D. and Marie Middlekauff on November 24, 1925 in Des Moines Iowa. He was married to Peggy Jane Knotts on November 14, 1944. They had one child, Rebecca Jane Middlekauff on May 29, 1946. After Peggy's death, Ray married Margarett Pumputis on February 2, 1992.

At the age of 18, Ray was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Tacoma Washington. He received an honorable discharge on May 26, 1945. After serving in the Army, Ray joined his father-in-law, Everett D. Knotts, as a plumber in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1958, Ray, Peggy and their daughter Becky moved to Portland Oregon. He spent many years building a successful plumbing company, Modern Plumbing, located in Tigard Oregon.

Ray also served first as associate pastor, then as senior pastor at Christian Gospel Assemblies in Newberg Oregon from 1975 to 1992. Ray was well-known for his love and knowledge of God and the Bible. He taught many classes and studies over the years, both formally and informally. He had a heart for people and was generous, kind, mischievous and loving.

He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and studying the Bible.

Ray is survived by four grandchildren-Colette Kelsey, Kathleen Odell, Kimberly Getman and Stephen Kelsey, seven great-grandchildren-Josiah Fike, Jessica VanNuys, Kaleb Fike, Nickolas Odell, Jacob Odell, Zackary Odell and Lucas Getman and five great-great-grandchildren-Devin VanNuys, Austin Fike, Myla-Jane Fike, Aly VanNuys, Robert VanNuys.

Ray was a devoted father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family.

Ray is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Jane Middlekauff, Daughter Rebecca Jane Kelsey, Son-in-law Jack Eugene Kelsey, Brothers Jack Middlekauff, Gene Middlekauff and Russell Middlekauff and his second wife Margaret E. Middlekauff.

Services will be held on
Saturday June 22nd, 2019 at 11:00am at
Christian Gospel Assemblies, 14000 NE Highway 240; Newberg, Oregon 97132.
