Cecily Humble

Cecily Humble, beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished sister, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day May 12, 2024, at the age of 42, after bravely battling sarcoma cancer for over a year and a half. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever be engraved in the hearts of those who knew her. Born on March 19, 1982, in Provo, Utah, Cecily spent her formative years in Salt Lake City, Utah, before embarking on a journey filled with adventure and love. She touched the lives of many as she traversed through Utah, Oregon, and Alaska, making lifelong friends wherever she went. In 2011, Cecily met the love of her life, Brandon Humble, and their bond was sealed in marriage in 2013, amidst the breathtaking backdrop of the Teton Mountains near Driggs, Idaho. Their union blessed them with two beautiful children, Bodie (age 9) and Summit (age 5), who were the light of Cecily's life. Cecily will always be remembered for her unwavering kindness, boundless creativity, and infectious laughter. She was a loving mother who nurtured her children with warmth and affection, instilling in them a love for nature and the outdoors. Her playful personality brought joy to all who knew her, and her compassion touched the lives of many. Cecily was a proud alumna of the University of Utah, where she earned her bachelor's degree. Her passion for learning and her zest for life were evident in everything she did. She is survived by her loving husband, Brandon; her adoring children, Bodie and Summit; her beloved siblings Colter James Vest, Chris Vest, Angie Taylor, Breena Vest, and Stephen Vest; and stepparents Keri and Greg Vergari. She is preceded in death by her stepbrother, Clayton Vest. She was the loving daughter of Rebecca Dudley. A celebration of Cecily's remarkable life will be held on July 18th in Wilsonville, Oregon, where family and friends will come together to honor her memory. Her ashes will be scattered over several of her favorite destinations, keeping her spirit connected to nature and the places she loved. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate doctors and staff at OSHU, especially Dr. Davis, and all those associated with Providence Hospice, for their unwavering support and care during Cecily's illness.
